There are many MMOSFG (Massively Multiplayer Online Sci-Fii Games) in development right now, after all, the fantasy-genre has become too repititive already. Sadly, some great ideas were cancelled, example Imperator, set in a futuristic reality where the popular empires of the ancient times are still intact and well like the Roman Empire. There is also Richard Garriott’s Tabula Rasa. There are also rumours like StarCraft Universe, but how about from popular TV series? We know about StarTrek Online, we all are waiting for it. But how about, Babylon 5? Or Andromeda? Or Battleship Galactica? Or maybe StarGate? Welcome StarGate Worlds (SGW), based on the TV Series StarGate SG-1 and StarGate Atlantis (both are great TV series by the way, you must watch both).

StarGate Worlds is being developed by Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment based near Phoenix, Arizona (US). Founded on July 2005 with a talent from Blizzard, Raven, the Hollywood special effects industry, GT Interactive, one of the founders of Electronic Arts (source: ShackNews), this company is in for a great ride. They acquired the license from MGM to create an online version for StarGate on Septemeber of the same year.
The game is still in pre-production and as such, a release date is still not possible to be given. However, there is already a big community around StarGate Worlds and this is one of the MMOSFG that we sure have to wait for especially that Cheyenne Mountain chose BigWorld Technology Suite as the platform for SGW.
