MTV Brings Maple Story, Audition, and Kart Rider to North America

During Korea’s GSTAR 2006 Gameshow, Viacom division MTV Networks and Korean online game publisher Nexon (Kingdom of the Wind) announced a new partnership deal to bring a few of Nexon’s Casual and MMOG titles to North America which includes Maple Story, Audition (Online) Dance Battle, and Kart Rider.

Follow up:

The CEO of Nexon Japan, David Lee, said that they “are delighted to establish this mutually beneficial partnership with one of the world’s leading creators of programming and content across all media platforms and the premier media partner in North America for Nexon’s wide ranging target audience.”

The partnership also covers the licensing of MTV branded items to be included in Nexon’s games, and to allow Nexon to further improve and enhance MTV’s Neopets, the very popular online casual game for pet lovers. And it doesn’t end there, Nexon is now the official partner of MTV for promotions and marketing of Neopets in Asia, one through Nexon’s very popular gaming portal.

“We are confident that through the alliance, Neopets will gain strong momentum in successfully serving its users with more value added services and that Nexon will be able to rapidly expand in the North American market,” added Lee.

(gameshogun Note: Kart Rider will surely become a hit in North America and in the rest of Asia, especially to South-East Asians and the Filipinos. I was given a chance to play and review the game by Nexon from its first Alpha version until its official launching in Korea, the same chance I was given with Audition Online Dance Battle, which is now a hit around the world.)
