Join the Dungeons and Dragons Fanfilm Contest

Hear ye, hear ye, D&D Fans gather around me. Wizards of the Coast (WotC) in conjunction with 1UP’s GameVideos.com, has announced the first Dungeons & Dragons Fan Film contest, offering fans the chance to produce their very own D&D adventure!

Follow up:

The rules are simple. Films must be five minutes long and each film must have a “DND” in the title. Submission format must either be MPEG, QuickTime, AVI, or Windows Video (.wmv). Deadline is on September 1, 2006.

To enter, visit the contest’s website. The grand prize winner will take home a new computer, video editing software, a video camera, and a Dungeons & Dragons “Year of Dragons” gift pack wich a limited-edition Colossal Red Dragon and D&D Chess Set – no Magical and Rare items though.

GameVideos will post all eligible films on September 15, and fans will be able to vote for their favorite films until September 30. The top ten films chosen by fans will advance to the final judging by a panel of celebrity fans and members of the independent film community, as well as game developers, will determine the final three. Criteria for judging: 50% for the Entertainment Value; 25% for Originality; and 25% to adherance to the D&D world.

So if you are dreaming of creating your own D&D film to beat the ratings of the two official Dungeons & Dragons movies, or perhaps you are one of those who knows what “LARP” is, then get your gears, arm yourselves, look for a party group, discuss, form a guild, and start shooting – scenes that is, and cast magic spells like mind control to get the D&D fans votes.

Good Luck to all of you!!
